His health is a big key to whether or not the Twins sign him.

    Re: Is Crede an Option?

The Star-Tribune says indications are that the Twins are willing to craft a deal that would get free agent Joe Crede to $7 million-$8 million with incentives.
Crede wants $7 million guaranteed, but that's not going to happen. A deal that would get him $7 million if he stays healthy would seem to be outstanding in an environment that just saw Bobby Abreu sign for $5 million, and given the way he bailed on the White Sox in 2007, he's not worth signing unless it's an incentive-driven deal.
Definitely no need to give this guy a lot of guaranteed money. Crede could do abotu 50 games worth of good for the Twins.

If the team can get an insurance policy to pay the guaranteed portion if he gets hurt, I'd say go for it. He has a lot of upside.

    Re: Is Crede an Option?

The Twins are still in the market, although money is an object (obviously). they want the entire deal to be worth $7-8M and Crede apparently wants $7M guaranteed, with incentives bringing the deal to about $11M, possibly.
If Dunn gets $20M for 2 years and is healthy, how does Boras think Crede is worth more per season with his history of health problems?
The Twins may be the only team left with an interest in this guy and if he wants to play, he'll need to re-evaluate his demands, IMO.
