Twins Twins continue homestand against M's

After taking 2 of 3 against the struggling Yankees, Minnesota continues it's homestand with a 3 game series against Seattle. You may recall, Minnesota was on a roadtrip out to the west coast, and essentially got embarrassed by the Mariners. Raul Ibanez owned Twins pitching, and the bullpen couldn't really do much right.

Hopefully, playing under the bubble will bring some comfort for the club as they look to get some payback. They will be facing a former pitcher, and clubhouse favorite in the opening game.

First game features Francisco Liriano (2-3, 6.55 ERA) vs Carlos Silva (4-13, 5.93 ERA)

I look for Liriano to continue his streak of good pitching and the Twins will take game 1 5-1.

I guess Silva should have stayed in Minnesota. 14 loses is not a Silva type year that's for sure.

This is one reason the Twins weren't willing to give him the contract he insisted he needed. His stuff is good, but predictible. Now that I've said this, watch him throw a 3-hitter at the Twins tonight.

But now that you said that ^, he's going to get lit up.

Or did I just jinx it too?

Twins bat 10 in the bottom of the 4th and put up a 7 run inning! Twins lead 9-2 top of the 5th. So far so good for Liriano. Both runs unearned by a error by Boucher.

Silva did not last the 4th inning. 3.1 innings pitched 9 hits 9 runs and 1 homer by Kubel!

    9-2 bottom of the 5th.

Twins win 9-3. No earned runs given up by Liriano in 7 innings pitched.

Is he getting back to his old form again?

He still has a bit of work to do to be back where he was prior to the elbow injury, but he is a bit better than the guy he replaced in the rotation.

With the White Sox losing in Oakland, the Twins are tied for 1st, and have played the same number of games. Lets see if they can win tomorrow. Baker goes for the Twins and has pitched well at home. Perkins, coming off his best start, goes Sunday. I like the matchups.

6-6 bottom of the 9th. We have 2 on and no outs.. We were up 5-0 at one point during the game then Crain came in and stunk up the dome.

Bases are loaded full of Twins in the bottom of the 9th. One out Brian Boucher is batting.
