The homerun bug bites Baker again. Sox 2-0.
game is tied at 4 now. Morneau hits a three run blast to cut the game to 4-3. Then Mauer drives in the tying run.
Twins lead 7-4 on Kubel's 3 run homerun!!! To bad that Hernandez and Boonser screwed the Twins last night or we could have been up by a game and a half.. Demote Boonser and Hernandez now......
7-4 Twins lead top of the 8th inning. Twins put up a 4 spot in the bottom of the 7th. :D
Guerrier stinks! Two run homer to Dye makes the game 7-6 bottom of the 8th. We need to score another run and I am not worried anymore.
Anyone down on the farm that could help the pen out?
Punto doubles in Gomez and the Twins are now up 8-6. Still batting in the bottom of the 8th. Punto just became my hero of tonights game.
9-6 Twins. Mauer's ground out scores Span from third base. One out with Punto at 3rd and Morneau's up.
J. Morneau intentionally walked. Young batting runners at the corners one out.
10-6 Twins. Young drives in Punto. Twins now broke the game wide open!
Great win for the Twins. The game turned on that bad call when Span was hit by the pitch. We were watching closely and he appeared to have pulled his bat back from the plate on a bunt attempt. He jumped to try to get out of the way and was hit. Gardy said that the ump said he thought he attempted at the ball. Oh well.
Overall, the team played very well, but the fans got a bit out of line after that. Gardy was ejected for the 5th time this season and 43rd overall in his career, but who is counting.
Nice win for the Twins too. The ejection of Gardenhire has really boosted the team and fans up and rallied to win and grab the series from the White Sox. It was much needed and i thought it was funny.
Among Ozzie's postgame comments on why he decided to walk Justin Morneau his last at bat of the series was because he simply didn't want to see Morneau to win another MVP. I thought it was ludicrous, but that is just Ozzie being Ozzie.
I'd loved this series even more if it wasn't for this loser with the name of Livan Hernandez. His best efforts this year are way behind him now.
That's what I said. Who is counting?
well, at least 2 different parties are :p:
