    Twins Twins @ Tribe for a 3 game set

    Twins open up a divisional series against the Indians tonight in Cleveland. The Twins have lost 4 in a row, including a 3 game sweep at the hands of the Yankees.

    Tonight.....

    Cliff Lee (13-2) vs. Livan Hernandez (10-6)

    Is Hernandez going to have another nice showing tonight? Many say that he's pitching for his spot in the rotation while Liriano is waiting for his chance in the minors.

    Shit. Gomez's appearing to be seriously injured after a fierce crash into the wall.

    Looks like Livan is pitching his way out of the starting rotation.

    Livan = (monotone) whatever.

    Liriano = bring it on!

    Gomez is carted off on a backboard...not a good sign. No official release yet from the team. Twins drop 5th in a row and since the White Sox won, that puts them 3.5 games back.

    Game 2:
    Fausto Carmona (4-2) vs. Scott Baker (6-3)

    Taken from the Twins' website...

    Fortunately for Gomez, who was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, no broken bones showed up in his MRI. He arrived back at Progressive Field shortly after Friday's game and was noticeably hobbling. Gomez's back hurt so much, he said, that he was feeling dizzy from the pain.
    Nice to know that nothing is broken...really hoping Cuddy can come back soon and be productive.

    I'm really glad that Gomez's injury isn't as serious as it appeared to be.

    Day to day according to the website.

    The Twins frustration continues. At least Hernandez didn't pitch badly after the 1st inning. He saved the bullpen from pitching a lot of innings last night.
    We can hope for better things from Baker and Blackburn. Baker has pitched very well of late and Blackburn has great stuff.

    Holy crap!!!!! Twins put up a 6 spot in the first, and add 3 more in the 3rd to go up 9-0.

    Baker continues his dominance allowing only 1 hit through 3.

    That's because Carmona couldn't control most of his pitches. That was his first outing since he was activated from DL.

    The Twins took the right opportunity to take this game from the Indians.

    Twins add 2 in the top of the 8th to go up 11-3.

    Nice to see that Baker got some run support.

    Twins win 11-4. A nice end to the losing streak, too.

    About the frickin' time they win a game. Too bad the Tigers couldn't get the job done tonight vs the White Sox. It would have been a game closer after tonight.

    Not to worry as there are still 2 months left.
