Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

good to see the glove got up and slowed the ball down alittle. Glad he is ok, sounds like he won't miss a start. Big win today. ESPN game tomorrow night. Here is hoping we can get to Petitte early and often.

Good to see this was nothing serious. Hope this doesn't effect his delivery in anyway when he comes back to the mound in his next start.

Pitchers are all afraid of things like this. Abreu hits the ball as hard as anyone in baseball and hit that one solidly. It is fortunate that the glove took the first part of the ball. It could have been a lot worse than it was today. He might not miss a start.

The telling part was seeing Abreu as he left the batter's box. He actually grabbed his helmet, and then shook his hands as if to show how alarmed he was. His face when he got to first base looked like a combination of fear and guilt. Thank god this wasn't more serious...

Bobby Abreu is one of baseball's good guys. He doesn't want to see anyone get hurt. They talked after the game and I'm sure he feels much better about it. He'll be fine.
