    Twins Twins beat A's 5-4.

Or should I say Craig Monroe! Finally our signing him has paid off. Craig went 3-4 with three RBI's. Batting average is up to .300 now. Nice to see things go in the right direction for Craig, looks like the more ab's he get the better he will do.

Big win last night. Back to .500 at 10-10. Go Twins!

The Twins should be able to win against the A's. Blanton pitched pretty well last night, and is being dangled as "trade-bait", at least according to Bert.
Monroe's performance against Blanton was not unexpected. He is 10/14 against him now. Some hitters just see the ball well against some pitchers and this is one of those cases.
One troubling sign from last night's game is that Carlos Gomez was 0-4 with 4 K's. He needs to learn a bit more plate discipline. The AL pitchers are getting a pretty good "book" on him and he is becoming a relatively easy out.

I must correct myself here. Gomez was 0-5 with 4 k's. He is currently hitting .230 for the season, although he leads the AL in SBs.

Congrats on the win guys. That was really a one-man show, with Monroe doing almost everything. He definately has Blanton's number.

So then next question is going to be, when will Gomez be sent to AAA and bring up Span or someone else that is capable of hitting mlb pitching?

It appears that Gomez will be allowed to work out his problems at the major league level. Span may stay on the team as well, with someone like Tolbert going back to AAA, although he has done a nice job handling the utility role he was thrust into.
This said, it might be a good thing for Gomez to go to Rochester with some specific instructions and a timetable for his return if those instructions are followed.
