    ...A Pitcher!

Congrats Twins fans, you might be able to fill out a 5 man rotation this year! According to Ken Rosenthal, Livan Hernandez has signed with the twins, a 1 year deal, somewhere between 5 and 6 million dollars.

Innings eater, he'll go 12-12 or so.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

He went 11-11 last year and has gone at least 199 innings per season over the last 10 years. Definately a good inning eater.

Inning eater for sure. Overweight and out of shape for sure. I hope he can pitch enough innings to take the strain off the pen. Otherwise we could be in for a long year!

Why have we not tried to get Freddy Garcia?

Not a bad guy to have around, the ball park should treat him well.

Garcia is hurt and might miss the '08 season. I think this is a good signing for the Twins. He has to eat innings because the young guys aren't going to go deep into games all that often, especially Liriano. Livan is going from a hitter's park to a more neutral field. Not a lot of money and a proven starter so I like the move.

I'm not upset by this signing. Sure he is a bit bigger than he might be, but the team's conditioning and pitching coaches will have their chance to get him in shape.

That's easy for you to say because Livan Hernandez isn't on your team again.

Exactly, we learned our lesson. No, Livan has had success since 2002 and even though he was tied in the league in losses that year, he still got into a World Series.

    Re: ...A Pitcher!

Livan Hernandez could be a good #4 starter for the Twins, and that's where they need him to fit in, IMO.
    Liriano
    Baker
    Bonser
    Hernandez
    Slowey
Could be the rotation, but I don't expect Liriano to be the #1 until later in the season. Right away, I expect to see Baker or Bonser to be the #1.
