    Monroe a Twins!

Any thoughts on this? He is a guy that killed Twins pitching, Great hitter in the Metrodome. He should be a guy the hit 25-30 homers and drives in 100 runs. Props to our gm on making a deal now when he could have waited. He said that he wants to gets some players in that can hit homers and drive in runs. Monroe and Hunter are close friends, so maybe this will get Hunter back in minnesota.

Now we need a third baseman with some power and we could be set.

I've always liked this guy in Left. He is a very good friend of Torii Hunter's and, from what I've read, has been talking to Torii about resigning with the Twins so they can play together in the outfield.
    Lets see what happens.

That would be really good for the club. A happy Hunter, another decent outfielder, now all we need is to figure out how to convince good ol' carl to spend some of his not-so-hard earned money on Johan.

Hate to say it, but I think Hunter is heading out...my guess is Texas.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I doubt it. With Monroe here it will help to get Hunter resigned. Things are looking better in Minnesota.

I hate to be a downer here Twins fans, but I agree with browntown. Don't see Torii coming back, my guess are your division rivals, the White Sox.

I don't see Torii going to Chicago, unless they absolutely blow him away with an offer. He lives about 30 minutes from the ballpark in Arlington, and has indicated an interest in playing there. I would say they may be in pretty good position to sign him, if they pick up some pitching. The Sox are still a couple of players from contending. Going back to Minnesota gets him closer to the playoffs than moving to Chicago does.
I could see the Red Sox making a push for him, and letting Coco Crisp walk away.

    Re: Monroe a Twins!

I'm confused in reading this thread. Am I thinking of a different monroe that used to play for the Tigers and then the Cubs who hasn't done shit in a couple of years and can't even bat his own weight!?

Why is ANYONE feeling the least bit giddy over this guy?!

Has he established himself as a real homerun hitter in this league? Or did he just have one decent year? One decent year does NOT equate into "a HR hitter"

Twins need to focus on guys like Guillen.

Maybe. I'm not sure Guillen would be a good fit. He's another corner outfielder and the Twins need a CF to replace Hunter, plus a DH.

    Guillen can't DH?

    Re: Monroe a Twins!

Guillen could DH, but the Twins have several other guys that could do that. Kubel will get his share of ABs as the DH, as will Monroe. Redman will get some as well, especially if he is swinging the bat as well as he has the past couple of seasons. Mauer will get a few games there just to save his legs.
The Twins don't really have a great need for a DH-type hitter, unless he is one like Frank Thomas or Mike Piazza, both of whom are not likely within the budget.
I think, if the Twins go after other position players they will be 3B and CF, not more corner outfielders.
