During a course of the season, you look for someone that has been a great story for your favorite team. Last year, it was Lew Ford that became a revelation. This year, my favorite story of this season has been Joe Mays. What a start he has had. I did not expect Joe to be this good. I was hoping for the best. If he threw 5 or 6 good innings, I would be happy. He has been more than what the Twins have bargain for. He has been using his sinker effective and he is finally listening to coaching. He is finding ways to get out of jams and he is not showing any sweat. He is not doing too much and he is not thinking too much which has been a problem in his career. This guy has always had talent and this goes back to 1999 and 2000. He just couldn't harness it or be consistent. He showed what he can do in 2001 and so far, we are seeing that glimpse of what he did in 2001.
