    Liriano Update

Francisco Liriano, who had Tommy John surgery on Nov. 6, has had no setbacks since beginning a throwing program.
Liriano has been throwing 10 times from 40 feet and 60 feet, five times from 90 feet and 15 times from 120 feet before tapering back down every other day. He hopes to be 100 percent in time for spring training.
Let's hope he is because that is one key piece that could have propelled the Twins into the playoffs this year. Him along with Santana are one of the best 1-2 combos.

I wouldn't count on him to be 100% next season. He will have to learn to pitch with his new elbow. His stuff may be affected, with his shoulder being a bit sore at times. Usually, the recovery period for pitchers to get back to their best form is a year and a half or so.
2009? He should be ready to lead the staff.
I agree that if Santana is still in a Twins' uni, they should have some of the best starting pitching in baseball.
