Losing Radke will hurt.
I can see both guys sign with the Twins again, especially with the new ballpark opening in a few years.
If the pitching holds out, the Twins can win 90+ games again. Offensively they should be OK and they have excellent defense all around the diamond.
Joe Mauer could win another batting title, but it isn't as likely.
The Twins could win the Central again, but they should be in the running for the Wild Card at the very least.

Last season was just good year for the Twins but I doubt they can repeat it.

Twins winning 90 plus games. Fact or Fiction (Well, I don't see with their myriad of pitching problems, and the fact it will be impossible to duplicate last year's offnsive surge. 85-90 wins)

Mauer winning another batting championship. Fact or Fiction (For all the simple reasons; he's a Catcher, he might not get the same lineup protection, and there's so many other viable options.)

Twins winning the al Central. Fact or Fiction (I know my reasoning might be flawed but I think that the Indians will bounce back from last year's plunge, and I still think the Tigers are formidable. I really don't see the Tigers winning that much though, I'm expecting a few bad sophmore campaigns and a couple of declines. Shockingly, I feel the Indians are a major contender.)

He is going to be missed. No question. He was a winner here. With that said, he was starting to fall apart in the last two years. He pitched through the pain and all, but at some point, it has to affect his ability to do his best. He was done. I wish he was back, but I think he did the right thing. At least, he was honest with himself and he knew that he could not go on. Life has to go on and I trust Rick Anderson will get the most out of Garza or Perkins. Also, the Twins need the money to pay their players in the next few years.

I am going to say fact. I really think Johan will stay below his market value since he likes it here and he likes his teammates and the organization. He does not seem like a guy that has a plan to go elsewhere. I think Morneau is going to stay too.

I will say fiction for now, but things can change. We have to see how they do at the games. I think they will contend for a playoff spot. I think the pitching staff will be okay. As long as the Twins are hitting, this team will be in fine shape.

Fiction. Playing everyday as a catcher can take a toll. He was fortunate to somehow win the batting championship last year. He struggled down the stretch and he had nothing left in the tank come playoff time.

Twins winning the al Central. Fact or Fiction.

Detroit is the team to beat. They have young, proven pitchers who can get the job done. Their hitting will be fine. Twins will battle for the wild-card. They can be a playoff team if Perkins and Garza do their job. It would be nice if Scott Baker steps up too. One thing for sure. The White Sox will be on a decline. This is the year Ozzie Guillen loses his players for good and Kenny Williams may have destroyed the team by making sevearl dumb moves. It will be great too.

Cleveland has young talent, but their pitching is a question mark and they play no defense. Unless these guys start learning how to play sound baseball, they ain't going to be takens seriously. There is a reason why Eric Wedge is everyone's pick to be fired.

Since I am bashing a Chicago sports team, I want to say that it was really nice to see Da Bears embarass themselves yesterday in a big game. Da Bears were never good, people. They played in a very weak NFC conference. They played in a conference that had a down year. You realize that they had a team who backed in the playoffs because the other teams could not win. That's all that needs to be said.
