Twins Mauer and Morneau win Silver Slugger Awards

Twins get 2 awards today. Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer win the Silver Slugger Awards. Nice to get two awards. Key is next season and how much better can they become!

Very nice that Mauer and Morneau were so honored. If the rest of the team will make the step forward that Justin Morneau did from 2005 to 2006, this team will win the World Series next season.

But we need to get 2 pitchers. Radke will retire is my guess. We also need a big time dh hitter.

I agree that the team still needs a good full-time DH. The couple of pitchers can be taken care of internally, but there are some "interesting" options available on the FA wire.

As I have said before, I think Ted Lilly would be a good fit. I think he and Gardy would get along fine and he could play for a team that has a chance to play in the post-season.

As long as we don't pay too much for Lilly, because frankly, I don't think he's worth a lot. He might be good in the lineup, but I sure don't want to dump 8-10 million a year on him.

Agreed. $22M/3 years could be a reasonable amount, although $22/4 years would be better.
