    Kirby Tribute

While cruising around a bit on youtube, trying to figure out why I can't get the media player working on the NBA site, I decided to do a quick search for a Kirby video. I was looking for a highlight vid, or something from one of the World Series trips, but came across a slideshow memorial

    Thought I'd share:

Thanks. I met Kirby a couple of years ago and he didn't look anything like the guy that used to climb the walls of the Metrodome. It's nice to see him in his prime again.

All time greatest Twins moment was right there. Kirby put the team on his back and carried us to a world series title.

He was ultimately the reason that this franchise won their 2nd championship in 4 years. Game saving leaping catch then hit a home run to win the game, it was unreal.

    He is still Minnesota's hero.

I just watched this again. What a nice slideshow of one of my all-time favorite athletes.

Man, I really miss "the good ol' days" with Kirby, Hrbek and crew.

Kirby was one of a kind. Toward the end of his life, he let himself go a little. I met him shortly before he died and he looked, in a word -- Bad.
I've got the '87 WS on DVD and also highlights of the '91 series. I prefer to remember Kirby the way he looked then.

I'm so glad to see that this video is still up on youtube.

Goodbye Metrodome and a slew of great memories, many
of which included the great Kirby Puckett.

    Re: Kirby Tribute

Kirby was definitely one of my all-time favorites. I was amazed that a man of his stature could run as fast as he could. I was also amazed when he made that insane catch when he robbed the HR in the World Series.

The guy always wore a smile and played as a major role model for a lot of the players we see today. Ken Griffey Jr. has stated that he was his favorite player outside of his dad.

I have also heard Torii Hunter and Mike Cameron say that he played a big role in their liking to CF. The list obviously could go on and on. I am just thankful that we had the chance to see him play.
