Twins Pick up Torii Hunter's Option

Torii Hunter will be back in a Twins uniform in 2007. Here is the story:

He has said that he would prefer a longer term deal, but he is happy to be coming back. I agree. I have said many times that he is the heart and soul of the team right now and the team is better with him on the field than without him.

12 million is pretty expensive, but there aren't any better options, and it's only for a year.

I agree with what Saber said. I think it's too much for him and would almost rather have seen them get a different deal done (say, 3 years at 22 Mil or something similar). $12M is too much for him, but I guess I can say I'm glad to have him back. I wouldn't have said that before July of this year, but he did a damn good job post-ASB

Yeah he was still needed. But we have some holes to fill for the team to be a major player in 07. Polad MUST spend!! Radke wont be back so the money used on Hunter was Radke's money. So we did not save money here.
