As a beaten down Reds fan who has longed for a young stud SP for years, you all should cherish Francisco Liriano. He's absolutely filthy.
Don't let him go, folks.

That is all

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.
Thank Brian Sabean and the Giants for that one. Thank him for Nathan too.
He's this good and yet he got passed up for the rotation for the likes of Lohse, Silva and Baker! He'd have 15 wins by the All-Star break if he had started the season as a starter. And a shot at a 30-win season!
Yeah, he'd be the Cy Young frontrunner instead of just a contender.

Liriano was needed in the PEN when the season started! We did not have a lefty, so that was gardy choice. I see 20+ wins for Liriano and the al rookie of the year. Outside shot at cy young..

Don't forget, we can thank the Giants for Boob Bonsai as well.
(oh wait, nevermind)
Well, wtf do you know! Gardendumbass is a bigleague skipper for a reason and there's a reason that you aren't! Don't question Ron, man. Ron knows baseball!Originally Posted by DirtyKash
Liriano is awsome, but before you know, people will make a similar post about Matt Garza. The kid is amazing. He is going through the system faster then Liriano did, he's currently 2-1 in Rochester. He won't stay here as long as Liriano either. Garza pitched a CG shutout tonight, 3 hits and 8K's.
Garza might even be better then Liriano.
Twins future looking very bright.
nice post. Keep us posted on this.

I don't know anything about Garza.
Here's a good write up article on the game he just had. The kid has 4 real good pitches.Originally Posted by Lynch

(July 26, 2006) — Matt Garza knows the Minnesota Twins are considering promoting him to the big leagues soon, but the Red Wings' cool right-hander put those thoughts aside Tuesday night.
"I don't pay attention to that,'' he said. "The Twins will tell me when I'm ready. I have total faith in them. I know they won't let me hang around here for five years.''
Or maybe even five days.
Garza, 22, allowed just three hits (one a bunt single) and two walks while striking out eight in a complete-game 1-0 victory over the Charlotte Knights, the International League's top team at 63-39.
He threw 126 pitches — 79 for strikes — and was clocked at 97 mph on his 122nd pitch. The game ended when Ernie Young, 15 years Garza's senior, launched a shot that Andres Torres flagged down on the warning track in center field as the announced crowd of 5,126 went wild.
"He didn't lose anything on his fastball in the ninth,'' said Young, who has 301 minor-league home runs under his belt. "He showed great stamina.''
And even more after the game. Garza was so winded by his outing that he rode the exercise bike for 20 minutes in the clubhouse.
Santana, Liriano and Garza, with Baker or Durbin at #5.... Twins have so many great players in Rochester it's not even funny. I'm so happy their going ahead with their new stadium, but Rochester and Minnesota is a great partnership, you never saw any Twins fans here, now you see them everywhere.
I was never a Twins fan until couple years ago because i loved seeing guys develop in Rochester like Lew Ford, Cuddyer and Morneau and go to Minnesota and compete with the big boys.
