Twins Help get Liriano into the All-Star game

    http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/a...=.jsp&c_id=min

They are letting the fans vote for the final All-Star. Liriano is one of 5 on the ballot. It's up to you to do your part for this very deserving youngster who is having a Cy Young type of year. As a ROOKIE!?

He's allowed 9 runs in his last 60 innings
ERA - 1.99 (best in majors)
WHIP - 0.97 (second only to Santana)
    Strikeouts - 94 (6th)

He deserves to get the nod.

Any other year of this contest, I'd be glad to. But not this year, can't do it.

As good as he has been, he doesn't. Hafner is the best hitter in baseball sans Pujols.

Wait, wuh!? "best hitter in baseball sans Pujols"?!

    18th in batting avg
38th in hits (tied with about 4 other people)
4th in HRs (tied with 3 others)

    SLG - 2nd (tied)

Basically, he ranks in HRs and that's it. singles, doubles, triples, he's no where to be seen. How the hell can he be the best hitter in baseball? Obviously I'm not saying the guy sucks, cuz he doesn't. But that statement is tainted by some jamaican gold or some crown royal.

3 of the most important stats (in my opinion) for a pitcher:

Liriano is 2nd in WHIP, 1st in ERA and 6th in SO's. And he's a freakin' rookie and on an 8 game winning streak.

    Hafner is 2nd in OPS.

    AL Ranks:

    2nd OBP
    1st SLG
    1st OPS
    1st Walks
    4th HR
    4th R
    3rd RBI (crap stat)

Considering Pujols has 50 less PAs, I think Hafner's been the most productive hitter in baseball.

And Liriano's 2nd WHIP/1st ERA in 80 innings, a good 30 less than most starters. I think he should have made it over either of the White Sox or Rogers. But over Hafner? Can't do it.

Yeah, but a good lefthanded batter isn't as hard to find as a good left handed slinger!

    He got it right!

please chris young come on! Liriano is the best rookie starting pitcher in baseball. The kid is as good if not better than Santana.. Guess you might want to stop drinking alittle earlier...

Guess you might wanna stop being an idiot, as they're not on the same ballot. I picked Hafner over Liriano, not Young.
