    Batista Designated for Assignment

    According to Rotoworld.com,

Twins designated third baseman Tony Batista for assignment.
Given that Batista can still hit the occasional homer, he might not be useless as a bench player. However, that's all he is at age 32. It might be a while before anyone takes a chance on him. Barring a surprise move, the Twins will have Juan Castro, Jason Bartlett, Nick Punto, Luis Rodriguez and Terry Tiffee share time between shortstop and third base. About the only thing that's guaranteed in the arrangement is that Punto will be in the lineup at one of the positions when the Twins are facing a left-hander.

Twins fans, pray for Matt Moses to move QUICKLY through the minors

Moses is in AA right now. I know the heart problem slowed down the movement of Moses through the minors, but he could get the call soon if things get desperate. However, he will want to improve his .266 average, and OBP of .313, although 9 homers and 29 RBI through 50 games isn't too bad. It does look like he needs some work, though.
