    Sad Fielder Go Bye Bye.....????

Fielder said no to $100 million+
    By Mark J. Miller

Superagent Scott Boras doesn't generally swing at the first pitch. And he's got till the end of next season to try and swing some kind of lucrative deal with the Milwaukee Brewers for his client Prince Fielder(notes) who he calls a "rare, rare commodity."
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Boras turned down an offer from the Brewers for the 26-year-old that was worth five years and more than $100 million.
Boras is quick to point out to the paper that Fielder has put 181 balls over the fence in his 764 major-league games. "Every other player that has that by his age is a Hall of Famer," he told the paper.
The paper notes that the Brewers aren't likely to have the kind of dough Boras wants for his client and "the common belief is that the Brewers will have to trade Fielder, either before the July 31 trade deadline or during the coming off-season."

We sure as hell aren't made of diamonds.......Shame.

When in doubt, the yankees....... except they have a 1B. And Boston, well, they have a million 1B/DHs. So... umm.. Do the mets have money? Do they see if they can kill off Jason Bay and Oliver Perez quietly? I'm perplexed, if not Milwaukee, where does he wind up?

If the mets were feeling frisky and managed to come up with the money, swing a sign and trade. Ike Davis and a guy like Niese or some other pitcher/prospect for Fielder. I would doubt they'd do something like that, but I cannot see Fielder going to a team that's not a contender, not a big city, or not staying in Milwaukee.

To me Fielder hasn't done much the first half of the season, not like he has in the past so right now he's not worth 100M+ that he turned down.

Someone has suggested... the white sox. Would Fielder want to be a DH? Would be okay being a DH?

I wouldn't worry just yet...there's no way Fielder and Boras would agree to an extension this early. Still plenty of time left for negotiations...I do hope Prince stays in Milwaukee though. Good to see players in smaller markets staying home...eg Joe Mauer
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Yeah it would be nice. Even with Braun having 8 years and Gallardo 5...Fielder wants a Pujols status most likely so it'll take a while.

He looks like the kind of lethargic guy whod want to only be DH, then you see that somehow he has multiple in the park homeruns.. and you are baffled perplexed and crying.

If he doesn't stay w the brewers idk where hed go. not that many contending teams need a 1b like him. he could always hope to find a team that has some money but sucks.
