Brewers Signs of things to come?

As spring training comes to end in the next week. I am seeing signs of how the Brewers pitching is going to be this season. Not that good, inconsistent. Very frustrating and disappointing. I hope I am wrong. I am still a loyal fan and dedicated to the Brewers. Hell, I have been a fan for more years than most of the members on this site. Just get tired of not being able to compete with the upper teams in baseball for FA's and other players through a trade. With the amount of revenue the Brewers have generated the past several seasons, they should be able to land better players than we have. Only one exception, was C. C. and he was a rental.

FWIW, you didn't have any competition with the "upper" teams for Mr. Randy. Hell, you didn't even surrender any draft pick to get him either. Consider it a gift from the Mc****s.

The rotation is nothing like it once was. Without Sheets, things look pretty dim out there. How is Gallardo lookin right now?

Gallardo is our opening day pitcher. I still say is would only be a #2 at best on most teams. Wolf is good, but not a #2. All of the starts are one ahead at least in the Brewers' rotation then they would be in most teams' rotations. But I will root for what the team has given to us fans.

IMO Sheets wasn't that impressive. He was good for like 1 year and then he kept getting hurt. Gallardo will be good as long as he stays healthy. He's got a nice bat at times too.

Sheets did a nice job yesterday. But in his day, when healthy, he was one of the best in the business. He should become the A's closer, like I wanted him to become in Milwaukee.

IMO the pitching is slightly improved than it was last year, having said that, I do think that we were lucky to not lose 90 games last year. I hope for the playoffs, but my realistic expectations are slightly above 500.

The "geniuses of baseball" have the brewers winning about 89 or so games but the Cardinals winning the division...Lets prove them wrong!

89 wins for the Brewers? Possibly, but I seriously doubt it.

I suppose the Cubs will have 89 wins this year though. Both teams will be lucky to finish .500. I see the Brewers realistically 83-79. They may be in the hunt for the wild-card.

I'm not saying the cubs will have 89 wins but I will say they are a more complete team than the brewers

Brewers will most likely get killed on the road like always. Inner league will hurt us like always.

sigh. can anyone say Melvin must go. Granted he has assembled some nice pieces, but way things are heading, the Brewers will be in the tanks in the next few years again.
