Gamel Out 6 Weeks

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP)—Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Mat Gamel(notes) will be out at least six weeks because of a torn muscle in his right shoulder, team officials said Thursday.

An MRI performed Wednesday revealed what the team said is a “slight” tear in his latissimus dorsi, the large muscle behind the right shoulder.

Gamel last played March 8 against Seattle but left in the third inning after a throw to third base. He since has been limited to taking ground balls in drills and hasn’t thrown or swung a bat in 10 days.

The 23-year-old hit .242 with five homers and 20 RBIs in 61 games for the Brewers last season.

And it stinks that Gamel is out. Just when he is ready for regular MLB action. I hate these kind of stories. The Brewers could have possibly used him or McGhee as trade bait.

McGhee is better than Gamel. IMO.

I still love JJ thats why he's my twin in the crew haha.

I am still a huge JJ fan as well. I even picked him up in my fantasy leagues. Not only cause he is still one of my favorite players in MLB, but I have a really strange feeling that he is going to rebound this year and have a great year.
