Brewers Weeks Done For The Season

Rickie Weeks' super-fast hands are the reason he ascended to the big leagues in the first place, but they are also the reason he just can't seem to get his Brewers career on track.

Weeks will undergo season-ending surgery this week to repair a torn sheath that surrounds a tendon in his left wrist, an injury he suffered on a first-inning strikeout on Sunday in St. Louis. The decision was made after Weeks visited Monday with Phoenix-based specialist Dr. Don Sheridan, who has performed two previous surgeries on the former first-round Draft pick.

Thats too bad. Its always awful to see somebody get an injury like this. He was hitting .272 and 9 HR's so he wasn't doing too bad. Bad news for the Brew Crew.

A1 is my favorite. I don't know what Weeks problem is.

I fixed the title for you man.

Tough news for the Brewers. His BB/9 rate continued to drop (while strikeouts increase) but he was starting to hit for power and better average. Weeks will be 27 next season and I don't know if he'll bounce back from this, at least with the Brewers.

The Brewers are likely going to be better defensively with Counsell playing 2B, but they will miss Weeks' bat a lot, not to mention his legs -- he's a great baserunner.
I hope he comes back well.

Re: Weeks Done For The Season

Weeks was off to one of his best starts in a while. His power had really turned on and like Mission said, the average was finally respectable. Brewers could be interested in bringing back Durham or maybe even signing Grudz to a minor league deal. Counsell's defense has really declined and can't think of any good second base prospects for the Brewers right now. An injury like this is hard to come back from so his power may never be what it once was.

Major bummer. Mat Gamel came up strong tonight though. Yes he got an error but he also got his first 3 run homer! Could be good things to come with that kid.

I liked the original title better. I loves me some mesquite, cajon, hot, or any kind of BBQ sauce seasoning. I hate that Montreal Steak seasoning by Grillmates...too damn salty.

well this is a big blow. But luckily we have quite alott of depth on the bench. We have hall counsell and matt gamel. We should be ok.
