    Re: Brewers Off-season Thread 2007/2008

The Brewers have told Geoff Jenkins that they won't exercise his $9 million option for 2008.
An official announcement should come soon. The Brewers will likely look to free agency for an outfielder. They may sign a one-year replacement for Jenkins to give Matt LaPorta some additional time to develop, but perhaps the better choice would be to sign a quality center fielder and do something different with Bill Hall.
I would love to give Dave Roberts and whatever you need ( Cain and Lincecum not included)for a Bill Hall at third for the Giants. This is a smart move but will be sad to see Jenkins in another uniform. Maybe they will sign him to a lesser amount for one year but he can probably get a better deal. This is someone the Twins could think about.

Rumor had it that Detroit was going to make a run at Jenkins. This was a late in the season rumor that I heard. Can not remember where I heard it.

And reefer, I really do not want Roberts on the Brewers.

I can't wait to see LaPorta working with the Crew. He had stellar numbers. It will be sad seeing Jenkins go. I think he would play with the Brewers for any amount of money but he knows he's been around awhile and he knows what he deserves to be paid unfortunately.

Brewers designate Corey Koskie for assignment.

The Hired ex-Brewers catcher, Ted Simmons from 1982, who Yost just so happen to backup, to be the new Brewers' Bench Coach.

I know Cardinals' fans that he played there too.

Mixed feeling on this post here.

Curt Schilling has 13 teams that he is willing to pitch for next year. And Milwaukee just happens to be one of them.

I dont know if this is a good move or not so-good. It is just nice to see that big names are thinking of Milwaukee now. Makes me smile.

Brewers say their top priority is to re-sign Cordero.

Curious to see what other teams express interest and what job they offer.

    Phew thank God.

Looks like the Padres are looking to offer Jenkins something.
