Sheets exits with strained groin

CHICAGO -- Brewers ace Ben Sheets had to leave Wednesday's game at Wrigley Field after three innings because of a strained right groin.
Sheets, who has battled back and shoulder injuries over the last two seasons, pitched three scoreless innings against the Cubs and was involved in a play at third base in the bottom of the third, when he tagged out Cubs shortstop Ryan Theriot.

Right-hander Elmer Dessens came out to pitch against the Cubs in the fourth with the teams in a scoreless tie.

Sheets is 1-2 this season with a 4.50 ERA in five starts. On Wednesday, he surrendered four Cubs hits in a game that was delayed one hour, 11 minutes at the start by rain. He is in the third year of a four-year, $38.5 million contract that was the richest in franchise history when he signed it.

Uh oh...I just hope he isn't hurt too seriously.

nope, off again, Bush is already through 5, and thrown only 72 pitches. Throwing a shutout and looks to go at least one more inning! up 1-0 and give the Brewers 6 or 7 innings, and with Turnbow and CoCo well rested, it would look good. Keeping fingers crossed and not counting chickens before they are hatched though!


Still will be happy with a split in this 4-game set against the Brewers!

Bush needs to have some luck to change for him. His E.RA is a bit misleading. He has had 3 bad inning, and if you count his Houston start where he had a shutout through8+ innings, it would be just 4 bad innings in his last 3 starts!
