uuuuuuummmmmmm... can you say 7.20 E.RA!!! Nice. Uuumm, Elmer you do know that E.RA is like a golf score, you want a low E.RA, not a high one!!! Like in golf low score--good, high score--bad!

Well between the 'pen and Capellan, I could go on, but it is easy when you are on this side of the situation. So, I will not crab too much, but lets get things in order and not have this distraction(s) and get on with the year and focus on winning and get rid of all negative stuff. Mostly losing get rid of.

Defense is sloppy again tonight, 3 errors. This will not win championships or even get a winning atmosphere in the clubhouse either. Pitching and defense win world series. Come on Brewers, prove the experts right and the rest of baseball that you are not flukes, pretenders!! Be contenders and serve notice to the rest of baseball!!!

Bullpen stinking up the joint again...


Yost playing percentages and pulling arguable his hottest hitter right now in Mench for Gross. Sometimes you just need to go against the odds and go with who is hot and who is coming off the bench in a crucial situation.


Oh well, Houston does it to us again.

Mench went 0-for-4 before he was pulled from the game, so his hitting was not exactly hot. But I agree that managers are at times foolish to make calls based on theoretical odds.

I know Mench had the goose-egg last night. But for the amount af "bashing" I have done on Mench prior to the start of the season, he is hot and Yost gets a quick trigger finger a little too often, IMO. I still have a bit of a grudge on him from last year with tinkering with the line-up too much the last 6 weeks of the season when the Brewers were right there for the wild-card with all of their injuries. I am a little old-school at times with going with the players that got you there and not playing everyone theory all the time. I understand the bench players need there AB's and playing time, but in crunch time, you have to trust your core players. I firmly believe that, and they are involved in the heat of that particular game.

My beef is with Yost again... I understand why he left Bush in the 9th, pitching a shutout and all. But he should have had Cordero warming a little bit just in case he got into trouble, which Bush did. By the time CoCo was ready, if you want to call it that, 2 BB's before registering an out. CoCo would have been closer to being ready then. Sometimes I feel Yost spaces out or something. CoCo didn't have to throw too hard before the 9th started, but he didn't even get up until Burke and Loreeta were already on base.

Alright my little crab would have to be when the players yell "I GOT IT" usually that means they do but yet 2 players coming running at each other...Almost happened again tonight with Prince and Rickie, luckily Prince was looking in the better spot to catch the ball, but this is how our players get hurt!

The Defense is going to be our biggest problem this year.
