Burnett to O's deal on hold over Lowell

Well, everyone but Peter Angelos (shock!) seem to want this work. The deal which was originally Lowell/Burnett for Julio/Penn/Bigbie. Now a minor league OF from the Marlins (Eric Reed) has been added and the O's have added half their pen (Steve Kline, Steve Reed, including Julio), but the O's want Lowell's contract to be paid halfway by the Marlins and they, well, don't want to. I hope it falls through (although I hope he doesn't go to the Sox, it would likely cost Arroyo and a couple prospects), since the O's become real threats with him and if Lowell rejuvenates...hooboy.

Arroyo in that stadium with the Marlins would be a match made in heaven. He could potentially dominate there.

The deal with the Orioles, I am not so thrilled about in terms of a Marlins perspective. I think they could more effectively shop Lowell and Burnett by themselves to get a higher value.

At the very least, Burnett alone may get more, but Lowell's salary hurts.

Kurkjian seems sure of two things

A) Burnett will be moved
B) That he has no clue where.
