    Marlins Up yours Marlin fans!!

Florida Marlins close upper deck at Sun Life Stadium for rest of season - Florida Marlins - MiamiHerald.com

It actually makes a lot of sense and should save the Marlins some $$. It might be a good time to go down there and have sex in the upper deck. Its part of my bucket list to fuck in a MLB stadium.

Do they really think a new stadium is going to fix their problems?

Yes, because in some cases it does fix problems, but for teams that have too many other problems the fix is only temporary. New stadiums aren't about putting in more or better seats for fans, it is for putting in more suites and amenities for big wigs and local companies to spend lump sums of money on larger allotments of tickets and sponsorship, that is where sports makes the bulk of revenue now. I just read that they are the frontrunners for the All Star game in 2014, think of what that could bring especially when you add in a vacation spot already in the mix like the Miami area. A new venue can also host other events in the off seasons as well as concerts, so it can make money other than for the games.

I’m sure this is also another reason there is an issue here and even though officially no one has the right to make public offers because of the deal between the Rays and ST Pete, everyone is talking in general about it from the county boards on the Tampa side to the Mayor of Tampa even to the press. Mayor Buckhorn has made it very clear that “if”(when) St Pete drops the ball, Tampa will be ready.

MLB doesn’t want to pull out of South Florida, they have tried to help make it thrive there due to their cultivation of the Latin element in the game, only time will tell though if a new stadium will help the “Miami” Marlins thrive.
