Matt Dominguez is slated to be the everyday third baseman or at least he is to start the season. The 21 year old is only hitting .175 this spring but is a phenom with the glove. He has never played an inning at AAA so he might simply be overmatched at the plate but his glove is better than any other option they have. His minor league numbers aren't all that impressive either. He has shown the ability to hit for a little power but not much patience at the plate. He has a lot to learn and will be doing so at the MLB level. Is this the right thing to do to a 21 year old? Would the the Marlins be better off going with someone else and let Dominguez start in AAA? I guess we will find out soon enough.
