According to MLB.com, the Marlins still have interest in free agent Ivan Rodriguez.
"We have something going on with the Marlins, but I'm not too sure where we are right now," Rodriguez, who went 4-for-4 with two homers against Panama this weekend, said Monday. He's thought to be looking for a one-year, $2 million deal.
I really don't see what is holding the Marlins back from signing Pudge. They are incredibly weak at catcher and Pudge could help out with that young pitching staff. The Marlins will be a good team yet again in 2009 and adding Pudge will make them even better. Pudge to go along with lefty John Baker would be an ideal situation for the Marlins. The Marlins went to the playoffs and later went on to win in Pudge's only stint in Florida. The Marlins could be in a position to shock the world again and make a run in '09.
