    Mark Hendrickson Gets the Nod

Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez picked Mark Hendrickson as his Opening Day starter.
Either Scott Olsen or Sergio Mitre was supposed to get the nod, but they got hurt and Mitre will start off on the DL. Hendrickson has a 1.69 ERA in 16 innings this spring.
It says a lot about your rotation when Hendrickson is your Opening Day starter. He has had a good spring and is the veteran so it is fitting but good grief. Hendrickson has a 9 to 2 K/BB ratio.

Solid, solid strategy by manager Fredi Gonzalez to go with Mark Hendrickson against Johan Santana! It should pay off BIG time!!!

All kidding aside, I would root for Lurch to outduel Santana. Imagine the reaction from the arrogant pricks from NY.

He better bring his A-game then. The Mets can score some runs.

What is up with Mark Hendrickson?

He earned his 4th win tonight against the Pirates.. He improved to 4-1 with 3.82 E.RA.

    Who would have thunk that?

Who would have thought the Marlins would be playing so well? Marlins are hitting a lot of homeruns. Ramirez and Jacobs have six, Hermida and Willingham have five and Uggla hit his third.
