DODGERS 10, MARLINS 0
at Jupiter, Fla.
Wednesday, March 7

Marlins at the plate: Mike Jacobs snapped an 0-for-12 spring slump with a first-inning single off lefty Eric Stults. Jacobs had two hits, as did Eric Reed. Hanley Ramirez was 1-for-4.

Dodgers at the plate: Tony Abreu had a big night batting in the ninth spot. He homered in the third and added a two-run double in the fourth. A pair of solo home runs by Delwyn Young and Abreu gave the Dodgers a 2-0 lead in the third. Jason Repko opened the fifth inning with a home run. In a three-run seventh, Andre Either, Wilson Betemit and Young had RBI singles.

Marlins on the mound: Gaby Hernandez surrendered two solo home runs in a three-inning stint where he struck out two, walked one and allowed three hits. Aaron Thompson issued two unearned runs in the fourth inning. Because the Marlins played a split-squad doubleheader and they were short on pitching, Nic Ungs was brought up from Minor League camp to throw one inning. Repko homered on Ungs' first pitch.

Dodgers on the mound: Stults tossed three scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out two. The left-hander racked up 41 pitches, with 24 strikes. Elmer Dessens struck out three in two scoreless innings, and lefty Michael Megrew gave up a walk and struck out four in two innings.

Grapefruit League records: Marlins 1-7-1; Dodgers 5-3.

Up next: The Marlins travel to Vero Beach on Thursday to take on the Dodgers at 7:05 p.m. ET. Anibal Sanchez gets the start for Florida, while the Dodgers go with Derek Lowe.
