Marlins at the plate: Jason Wood belted a walk-off two-run homer in the ninth inning off reliever Freddy Deza, snapping a tie. Hanley Ramirez singled, stole second and scored on Miguel Cabrera's first-inning single. Josh Willingham added an RBI double in the inning, and Aaron Boone delivered a run-scoring single. Boone played first base for the first time in his Major League career. Joe Borchard had an RBI single in a three-run fourth inning.

Orioles at the plate: Jeff Fiorentino had three singles and two RBIs. Chris Gomez had a big day; he delivered a two-run homer in the fourth after he had an RBI double in the second. Corey Patterson and Gomez had back-to-back two-out doubles in the second inning. Fiorentino added an RBI single, and Melvin Mora had an RBI double in the fourth.

Marlins on the mound: Starter Wes Obermueller worked two innings, giving up two runs on five hits with a strikeout. The right-hander, getting a look as an emergency starter, threw 40 pitches. Yusmeiro Petit allowed three runs in the fourth inning on four hits.

Orioles on the mound: Steve Trachsel made his Os debut by giving up three runs on four hits with a strikeout and a walk in one inning. Slated to throw about 35 pitches, he exited after a 28-pitch first inning, which included 16 strikes. Jeremy Guthrie worked two scoreless innings, yielding one hit batter and one strikeout.
