Where they should go.

It's not a matter of how possible a deal to be made, is, but rather what would look good and make a great deal of sense. And because we like fun.

CL Heath Bell: St. Louis Cardinals
It's been a season long adventure. Franklin finally crashed, burned, and was released. They have several power arms, but no one has really taken a strong hold of the role. As funny as it would be to see Jason Isringhausen return to the Cards, getting Bell would push Salas, Boggs, Motte, and Sanchez down a step, making the pen fearsome.

CF B.J. Upton: Arizona Diamondbacks
It's up and down, and right now, mostly down for Bossman Junior. And it's not been pretty since 2008. The talent is there, and he's still very young. He has defensive capability, and can steal bases. Either he needs to go to a team with a very motivating manager (although one wonders how many are better at that than Maddon), unite him with his brother.

OF Carlos Beltran: Texas Rangers
He says he prefers the NL. And maybe he winds up with San Fran or Philly. But what if Texas makes a convincing offer and Beltran can't refuse the opportunity to join a contender? Throw him in a hitter's park, with the ability to rest as a DH at times. Beltran and Hamilton would cover a great deal of ground. And they would get a bat till Beltre returns.

OF Hunter Pence: San Francisco
There's no real reason to let an opportunity to really fix the farm. Get what you can for Myers and Wand-a Rodriguez, and then send Pence to the Bay. Ask for their OF prospect, maybe an arm, and take on Sanchez. It's a start, but then again, it may be decades before we give a damn about Houston. San Francisco would have more than a rental in Pence. They also get his blue collar work ethic and hustle. Plus a good bat. That helps.

SP Ubaldo Jimenez: New York Yankees
You're kidding yourself if you think they're really championship contenders with everything that's behind Sabathia. Not that Jimenez automatically makes them favorites, but good luck with the notion that Burnett, ***, Colon, Nova, and Hughes in some order are starting games 2, 3, maybe 4 or 5? Didn't think so. But.. let's look at a never will happen ever scenario:

SP Felix Hernandez: New York Yankees
Seattle is bad. They don't really have bats in the farm. They don't have them anywhere, really. Hernandez is completely wasted entering his prime, when he knows he's lucky to get a single run every start. So the Yankees trade super DH Jesus Montero, that Banuelos kid, maybe Betances and another bat in the farm. Yankees get a guy that's as young as many prospects, has a Cy Young on his shelf, and would form an incredible duo with Sabathia. A frightening duo. But it'll never happen.

These are all plausible until you get down to the last one. I know KOZ says it wouldn't happen and there is a good reason for it, the Mariners would lose their best player. Mariners have money coming off the books and have young guys coming up. With Ichiro's contract coming to an end after next season, the Mariners will need that franchise guy and King Felix is a marketable player! Yankees fans from everywhere think they are going to trade for Felix so that's the only reason I am saying anything. They aren't, not anytime soon.

I hope no one of any consequence goes to the Yankees or Sox. The rich getting richer and just pilfering other teams is beyond old. Yes, they have their own players, but I'm just sick of them being able to do whatever they want.

ubaldo to the yankees really isnt plausible either. they want nova, banuelos, betances and montero. and although, i still get flashbacks to me shouting that "we should never trade hughes, joba and kennedy in the same deal !!!"... im tempted to go down the same life path in saying "we should never trade nova, banuelos and betances in the same deal !!!"

unless felix is the name in return.
