Me and some friend of other teams were talking about team logos and mascots, and we started talking about Chief Wahoo, the Cleveland Indians logo.
Chief Wahoo is embraced by many in Cleveland. He's been the symbol of our baseball team for a very long time, and was even on top of old Cleveland Munincipal Stadium, where they played before moving into Jacobs Field.
My friends have no problem with him. He's just a cartoon figure. However, there seem to be many people who have a problem with him. They say he's degrading to the Native Americans. They say the Indians should get rid of him,and some even want the team to change thier name.
These people are taking a "stand" against a "wrong against the Native Americans".Why don't they ask the Native Americans if they even care?If they really want to help the Native Americans in this country, maybe they should take up a real cause because they are being wronged worse by other things than a cartoon character.
I was just wondering everyone else's opinion on Chief Wahoo.I own plenty of things that depict him,and I am not going to stop wearing it because a bunch of political nobodies told me to.
