Puckett was a solid player, but I never thought he was HOF. Regardless I hope he gets better.

Couldn't believe it when I read it.

i could. he was a stroke/heart attack waiting to happen. Those kinda things happen to people who are twice their recommended weight. still, sad.

One of my favorite players when I was a kid. I have to wish him the best in hopes that he can take this unfortunate event and turn it into a learning experience. My prayers are with you Kirby Puckett.

Kirby has had no luck with health in his post baseball career, was always one of my favorites to watch.

Kirby was a good ballplayer and was the key for the Twins success winning the whole thing in '87 and '91, one of the greatest WS in history if not the best. I will never forget that Series for as long as I live. Baseball will miss him.

My prayers and thoughts are with Puckett's family right now. I hate to see anyone who still has plenty of years left on their life pass away from something like this. A great career, and good person. Maybe he would have gotten back into baseball in a coaching or management role later in life, but now, we will never know.

Wow, what a shock. I bet he didn't see that coming.

    ...too soon?

RIP Kirby Puckett. Too young to die at 45. My prayers are with his family.

I was shocked to hear of his passing away last night while watching the Gonzaga game.

I see nobody is reporting about Kirby's darkside. It's considerable.

But I really feel for this guy in spite of his problems with domestic violence etc.

Man this is a hard one to take to be honest.
