Dodgers hire Colletti as GM

The Dodgers have decided to hire Giants assistant GM Ned Colletti to replace Paul DePodesta as their general manager.
A Giant running the Dodgers? Colletti, 50, was Brian Sabean's assistant since 1997. He'll probably have the media on his side right from the start and he'll make up for whatever DePodesta lacked in communication skills. Whether he's actually any good of a GM isn't something we'll know for at least a year or two.

They fired DePodesta for him? Ehhh...it's a wash. Maybe the Dodgers just wanted to get some attention from the media during the offseason. "Hey look at us everyone! Over here!"

Whether he's actually any good of a GM isn't something we'll know for at least a year or two.

But history shows that won't stop the Dodgers from making that decision much sooner than that..

Very good hire for the Dodgers and bad news for the Giants. Ned was a key part to Sabean's success. Hell he even negotiated Bonds' contract which means you trust this guy a lot. Colletti can do no worse than what DePodesta has done. Good luck which means I hope you burn in hell

I agree and it's nice that the front office didn't take the Giants-Dodgers rivalry into consideration.
