It's essentially a 4 game playoff where the yankees need to win only 2 to get in. Go Yanks!

Welcome to the forums Pronk! Feel free to send me a PM if you ever have a question/concern with the site.

I am pulling for the Indians right now. It's fun to watch a baseball team in Ohio that is solid from the top to the bottom of the organization. Trust me, Reds fans would kill to have Shapiro and O'Brien trade places. Again, welcome to the forums and I look forward to talking the upcoming playoffs with you.

Here's what's going to happen: Red Sox will take 2 of 3 from the Yankees. Indians will take 2 of 3 from the White Sox.

All three teams will end up tied with a 95-67 record forcing an unprecendented three-way one-game playoff.

How that should work is: Red Sox play Indians in innings 1-3, Indians play Yankees in innings 4-6, Yankees play Red Sox in innings 7-9.

Whichever AL East team finishes with the most runs will be division champ, and whichever team finishes with the second most runs will be the wild card.

As long as the Tribe get in I'm cool with that because that means one of the East teams will sit this one out.

    Go Tribe!!!!

Cleveland would make it in automatically, and New York and Boston would have a one-game playoff for the East. Why does Cleveland get favored here? Because New York and Boston MUST to play a one-game playoff for the AL East (as has been a rule in baseball forever), and after that game, the loser would have a worse record than Cleveland.
