MLB Mariano, Edgar, Mussina, and Halladay elected to Hall of Fame

Mariano Rivera is the first to be unanimously elected. Well, at least it wasn't Jeter. Bonds, Clemens, and Schilling fall short in their 7th year on the ballot.

Edgar could really smack it. I think he was over .300 against Halladay and Mussina... and something like over .500 against Rivera. Amazing.

Not that he isn't deserving but I find it kind of funny that after years of debate and argument over whether or not closers even deserve to go to the HOF no matter how good they are just by virtue of being closers that the first unanimous HOFer is a closer.
