    MLB 2018-19 Off-Season Hot Stove

The Mariners are blowing things up, they have sent James Paxton to the Yankees and Robbie Cano and Edwin Diaz to the Mets. They also took back Jay Bruce and Anthony Swarzak and kicked in $20 million to the Mets for salary relief, but they also get 3 prospects for the trouble. The idea of the Mets trading Syndergaard makes less sense to me now, you don't trade for Cano and his contract and turn around and trade one of your young cost-controlled aces so you can then replace him with a free agent starter that'll cost more money, but if they want to give him to the Dodgers, I'm fine with it.

The M's are at it again, Jean Segura is going to Philly for JP Crawford and other pieces that could include Carlos Santana.

If the Phillies trade Carlos Santana, you could only call that move smooth.

Yeah, Santana was dumped after just one year into his contract. Teams have got to change their evil ways.

    A) If either one signs with the Dodgers, the Padre lemmings will argue that he was overpaid as fuck, and aren't even a tenth as valuable as retired Padre legends Matt Stairs and David Eckstein.

    B) If Machado signs with a new team, the Padre lemmings will argue that the Dodgers should've re-signed him because his replacement Corey Seager is no David Eckstein.

Henry is to you and the Padres what J5 was to you and the Chargers.

When most Padres fans discuss overpaid players at the forum you lurk at they’re typically discussing Wil Myers and/or Eric Hosmer.

    Machado to the Phillies?

Harper to the A's... haha, when hell freezes over. Harper with Yankees? (not sure yet)

J Five's A.J. manlove was at least rooted on the "success" (division championships and a conference championship appearance) that the same lemmings mock the Dodgers for. What the fuck has Rockstar GM accomplished besides giving Eric Hosmer more money than any player the fucking nerds in L.A. have ever signed?

I had a crazy dream last night that the Astros had signed Machado to a 1-year deal worth $11.2 million and the Golden State Warriors had signed DeMarcus Cousins to a 1-year deal worth $5.3 million.

He has built the #1 farm system in the league.

I’m not getting super excited until I see how that eventually translates to the big league team, but that is the area of interest for the time being.

The Cardinals get Goldschmidt, the Nats get Corbin, the Red Sox are on the verge of re-signing Eovaldi after re-upping Pearce, the Yanks got Paxton and will probably land either Machado or Harper while the other goes to the Phillies. I'm so happy the fucking nerds in the FO and the misers in the Dodgers ownership punted the 2018 season just to get under the luxury tax so they can sign nobody in the offseason. Fuck these guys.

I read this exact same post yesterday on a Yankees blog except with the Yanks and Dodgers reversed (minus the Paxton bit, which instead has everyone enraged because we gave up a couple specs to get an injury prone non-ace which is a half assed move towards keeping up).

Post it. I want to see. But yeah, likewise, if the nerds trade Puig for Kluber, us cynical Doyer fans will complain that it will be Pedro Guerrero-for-John Tudor all over again.

I can't find the specific one, but the tenor is in this post and a few others:
Replacement Level Yankees Weblog - NY Post: Yankees won’t have to wait long to learn Patrick Corbin fate
