Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
the rays started romo again today against the orioles. it also did not fare very well. luckily their "bullpen" gave them 8.2 scoreless innings. its being cute just for the sake of being cute, since im pretty sure pruitt is the guy who comes in at some point after romo to eat the remaining innings anyway. so why not just start him? make believe metrics!
Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
i was wrong on pruitt, it was banda the name i was thinking of that was initially designated as the guy to follow up romo. but theyve since deviated from that as well. i still think the opening of the game with a reliever is a stupid concept, and just major overmanaging for the sake of showing youre doing something.
Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
of course maybe i just hate it because i could absolutely picture boone at some point this year just starting the game with green, then going to kahnle, shreve, betances, robertson and chapman hoping to get all 27 outs between them.
Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
I don't mind using a reliever to start the game because of matchups and shit, but eventually you have to bring in somebody who has a starter's repertoire to pitch through the batting order or else you'll be burning through your pen like it's an extra inning game.
Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
The Dodgers started the diabetic reliever Scott Alexander against the Rockies at Coors Field. So our bullpen can blow leads in the 2nd inning instead of the 8th or 9th. Fucking nerds.
Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
Dodgers have some nice young arms in Stripling and Buehler. Looks like they will need them with Kershaw hurt again. Sorry, mofo.
Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
Kershaw and Rich Hill died so that Rowdy Ross could take his game to the next level. OOTP.
Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
Haha. I like non-violent/not-too-loud drunks.
Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
Well, this Caleb Ferguson kid looked more like a Turd Ferguson. How the fuck can you be a starting pitcher and shit all over yourself in your major league debut? Aren't n00bs supposed to be major league hitters' Achilles heel? Enjoy your first and only callup, Turd.
Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
Tanaka placed on the DL with tightness in both hamstrings after running the bases last night...
Yeah, I am with the party that thinks the NL should just adopt the DH but Tanaka wasn't asked to do something ridiculous that is extremely unusual. All he was doing was running the bases.. As a world class athlete like he is, or supposed to be, you would think he would be able to do that. I know he obviously doesn't have to do that any other time but still.
Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
I like the idea of NL DH but not because poor AL teams lose someone to the DL in some freak occurrence or something.

Aaaand...Buehler lands on the DL with a "micro" fracture in his ribs, resulting from a liner that drilled him there from his second-to-last start. Nothing good ever happens at Coors Field.
Re: 2018 MLB Season Thread
Bumgarner gives Kike the glare around the bases after the home run. Klansman trash.
