Cameron, Beltran collide; Cameron carted off

Mike Cameron left today's game in the seventh inning following a collision with Carlos Beltran in right-center field.
Cameron was put in a neck brace and taken off on a cart after getting hit in the head. He figures to be done for quite some time. NL-only leaguers will probably want to pick up Victor Diaz, who would take over in right field.

Carlos Beltran left today's game in the seventh inning following a collision with Mike Cameron.
The two players hit head-to-head while diving for a ball. Unlike Cameron, Beltran was able to get up and walk off the field. However, it looked like he suffered a signficant shoulder injury. If both he and Cameron are going to miss some time, the Mets will probably use Chris Woodward in center field. It's too early to call up Lastings Milledge.

I saw it on TV, it was a head on, they both dove...looks really bad.

Mike Cameron broke his nose, had multiple fractures of both cheekbones and a slight concussion.

I have been optmistic about the Mets getting the wild card this whole year, but now Im not.

I would call up Milledge just to see what he can do.

Yea I didnt think about that. Both, when 100% healthy are capable of stealing 40 bases (if they can get on base) or more. What an impact it mustve had

Yeah I saw this last night too. man, it hurt just seeing it play out. I cannot believe this happened. I mean this has to be the worst collision I have evr seen too. I just hope the Mets can at least get Beltran back in a timely manner. But we all know that Cameron will be out for a while. Man that had to hurt!

If you were involved in a collision like that, would you go back and watch the tape of how it played out?
