    Close enough to feel confident he'll get in and was just held out by the "HOFer but not 1st ballot HOFer" crowd.

    Anyway, I don't get how voters can justify voting on Piazza but then not Bonds.

    You either think steroids should keep a player out or you don't, and if you're going to vote for an admitted user then you have no excuse not voting for someone who'd have been more automatic than Griffey was this year if not for his own steroid cloud.

    Well, for one, Piazza didn't have an entire book written about him and his connection to BALCO. That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if it is ever discovered that he did more than just andro, which is a convenient PED for him to admit to have used because it was a legal substance at the time.
