Fred McGriff and the Hall of Fame

Why doesn't he get more consideration? 7 more homers and he's a lock https://overthehillsports.wordpress.com/2015/06/16/why-fred-mcgriff-deserves-a-spot-in-cooperstown/

The URL you posted isn't clickable so here it is...
    Fred deserves a spot.

I hear ya, you get no argument from me that Fred McGriff deserves to be in the hall. He is being underrated by the very thing that should be getting him more votes, he played during the "steroid era". Instead of him being praised for staying clean and being consistently productive throughout his career he is being punished because his numbers aren't "up there" with the steroid users that these sports writers claim they will never vote in because they cheated. What about the fact that he was able to hit 493 while probably facing quite a few PED pitchers? The other side is rarely discussed, it's always what the batters did on the juice not what hitters weren't able to due against juiced pitchers. It is those inflated numbers of PED hitters that in the baseball writers minds make Fred's look "mediocre" in comparison, yet they claim to vilify the PED hitters. If they really think it is cheating, NO ONE on the ballots would have their numbers compared to PED users. The one nice thing is there is the veteran's committee that will likely admit him if the voting bozos never get it right. Not quite the same, but it's still induction, hopefully they do it before he's dead.
