A developer in Pasco County Florida has been lobbying for funds to build a $34 million baseball complex in Wesley Chapel, the county agreed to a 45 year contract with him to build and operate the facility that is projected to include nine ML sized fields, stadium and 10 youth ball fields with on site accommodations for travel teams. He had to raise $23 M in order to get the $11 M the county pledged towards the project.

Developer James Talton contacted Gary Sheffield and he has now become a partner. Not only does the plan call for youth sports, clinics and tournaments but eventually the idea is to lure another Major League club to hold spring training camp at the venue.

I have never been a huge Sheffield fan but if he helps to bring another ST team just 15 to 20 minutes from me, I will love him for life!
