On the 2nd pitch Machado throws the bat. It's quite obvious that it didn't slip as he claims since the pitch was already by him, if not in the catcher's mitt.

Felix went 7 innings, fanned 15, and gave up no runs, earned or otherwise.

That's good pitching regardless of whether or not the offense waits until the 9th inning to score.
