The only player from the steroid era that will get voted in on the first ballot is Junior. Partially because he did it clean (considering how he aged the correct way) and partially because he'll be the first Seattle Mariner to make it in.

It is a bit alarming to think votes could be "bought" but I agree the process as it stands leaves a lot to be desired. I am with Leo that it irks me the guys that "may", "might", "possibly" juiced are being thrown under the steroid bus simply because they played during that time. Everyone in the know turned a blind eye when monster homeruns and power battles brought fans back to the game after strikes and work stoppages but to take the blame off themselves, they want to point fingers at just about every player of the era. On the other hand the voters that don't want to vote for the "cheaters" won't vote for players that don't have the "inflated steroid" numbers as the users they played with or even against, yet are comparable to players already in the HOF.
I'm sure he was referring to the hitters of the era.
