    Silver Sluggers

Alvarez over Wright is a joke. Granted I'm biased, but Alvarez only wins if you look at HR, RBI and nothing else.

Edit: Chris Johnson and Ryan Zimmerman were deserving names. But Wright at LEAST should have been top 3.

He was out about 40 games, and he still finished with the 6th best offensive WAR in the NL regardless of position. Meanwhile, Alvarez finished the year with a .296 OBP.

Your not going to win silver slugger on WAR argument... That's a pure numbers award

    Re: Silver Sluggers

    Wright .307/.390/.514, 132 hits, 23 doubles, 6 triples, 18 HR, 58 RBI and 63 runs scored vs Alvarez .233/.296/.473, 130 hits, 22 doubles, 2 triples, 36 HR, 100 RBI, 70 runs scored.

If you look at any category beyond HR and RBI (which, even for the silver slugger, shouldn't be asking too much), Wright wins. My argument is more that the award itself is idiotic.
