    Here it is opening day and the Houston Astros, Florida Marlins, and Chicago Cubs have already been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention!

    I heard on ESPN that Houston's payroll is 18.8 mil. Florida couldn't be much higher. Chicago is Chicago they'll find a way to suck regardless.

    They may very well suck, but then again, so in all my years of following sports, I think there are just three conditions which if any one of these happened to your team, you know you're fucked from the get-go:

    1. Your team held an unprecedented fire sale after winning the World Series
    2. Your team's owners are divorcing
    3. Your MVP took his talents to South Beach
