5 for 5, as well. Congrats to Jeter, first Yankee to 3000.

reefer cracks me up... we all realize hes not the same the last season and a half, but his 17 year body of work deserves proper recognition

Would he get the same recognition if either Houston, Cleveland, Montreal, Baltimore, or Cincinnati (Chad Mottola?!?!) didn't pass on him in the draft? I think not.

its 3000 hits, hed get his recognition regardless if teams graded him better than nevin, shuey, hammonds and the other two minor leaguers drafted in front of him. of course its amplified by being in new york, though i admit i dont know to what level since ive been watching jeter related shows, since the rainout last night.

I think he's gotten plenty of recognition in his 17 year career

I don't think he didn't get his own thread because anyone hates him, some of us were celebrating and marking it in the milestone thread as it was happening. It was basically started waiting for his milestone, wasn't it???. He was at the top of the leader board, yes? Does there have to be a complete separate thread for everything or 2, 3 5, 20 about the same subject?

It‘s Yankee fans that are hated and this kind of “everything they do should have their own category“ is one of the very reasons why. The milestone thread was just fine, in fact if you include the game thread that was already 2.

Before anyone jumps no, I am certainly not bitter about the achievement or even the loss, I just have a pet peeve about a ton of different threads going about the same thing.

Of course, never said anything different. I simply said its time to put focus on actual good Yankees this year.

    Re: 3000 hits

I'm pretty sure 300 hits has happened more than 28 times in history.

Ichiro almost did that in one season.
