Here's a list of the best of what's out there. It ain't pretty but some of these players could help a team. I had to stretch some players to complete a roster.

    2B- Cristian Guzman
    SS- Orlando Cabrera
    3B- Willy Aybar
    LF- Scott Podsednik
    CF- Gary Matthews Jr.
    RF- Ryan Church
    DH- Russell Branyan

    SP- Kevin Millwood
    SP- Doug Davis
    SP- Jeremy Bonderman
    SP- Jarrod Washburn
SP- John Maine (won't be ready til August)

    RP- Lance Cormier
    RP- Chad Durbin
    RP- Manny Delcarmen
    RP- Scott Schoeneweis
    RP- Randy Flores

Out of curiosity, who's your closer if you have to choose from that bunch?

That team has some talent on it, obviously. They aren't going to contend in any division, but would win a few games.

I've always found the idiom "they'd win a few games" to be funny when used for a baseball team. Even the worst teams in history win 50-60 games, which is more than a few.

I think the padres will lose a few games.

Well, minus the 1B part. Reefer might as well list another one after Johnson gets hurt. Again.

Johnson would injure himself trying to post in this thread.

That infield already looks better than the Kevin Towers All-Stars down in Arizona (Blum! Mora! Bloomquist! Ransom!)

    I got Branyan there

I wouldn't be surprised if the Rangers picked up Branyan to face RH pitching if they do in fact trade Young.

Cabrera and Flores are gone now. Flores signed with the Padres and Cabrera with the Indians.

Now Manny Delcarmen is a Mariner. The scrap heap is getting smaller!
