American League BS Awards: AL Manager of the Year

I nominate Reefer to do a surprise player of the year poll. Something to that affect, since he did the bust thread (but no boobs?). And with that, the manager of the year awards. There's a couple of logical candidates, and then there's a few guys that will never be on this poll. Those guys, I'd like to call them Ken Waka Waka, everything that coached Kansas City, and whatever Buck Showalter replaced. Good times.

Well thank you KOZ and I gladly accept. I went with Ron Gardenhire. I just don't think there is a better manager in the game that gets more out of his players than he does. Joe Maddon is a very close 2nd.

I'm going to agree. He might have been one of the few managers that could actually get through to Delmon Young.

I voted for Ron Washington. After the off-season he had, he had as much pressure to succeed as even the Yankees' managers do. He did a very good job.

I'm pretty sure Mike Scioscia is the same highly respected manager this year as he was in previous years, yet he isn't going to get any consideration this year just because his team isn't as good as Ron Washington's. What a joke.

But according to you, the award is a joke, so it shouldn't really matter to you who's on the poll.

Scioscia is still a top 3 manager in my mind.

That he is. I wouldn't refute mofo's claims. But he should know the award is typically given to the trendy choice every season. Otherwise, it's always going to be same couple of managers in each league vying for the award.

Tell Scioscia not to let his players celebrate so hard....that or have glass ankles.
